Production proof

The same team
built these.

Look them up. Use them. Podseeker and SocialPhotos are live bootstrapped software products with real users, complex workflows, integrations, and millions of data points.

Why Devyou

Build something useful.
Then keep learning.

Fast code is abundant. The hard part is choosing what deserves to exist, getting it into customers' hands, learning from real behavior, and improving it without losing quality. Vertical software is especially demanding because its value lives in domain-specific workflows, data, integrations, and exceptions. Devyou gives domain experts the continuing product team behind proven SaaS businesses.

01 / DO IT YOURSELF

Easy at first. Painful when it matters.

APP BUILDERS You rebuild the product around the tool.

Every custom workflow, data model, or integration hits a wall. You work around the platform, then outgrow it, then face a full rewrite with real customers already inside.

VIBE CODING You inherit a mess you cannot explain.

Features ship fast until one change breaks three others. No tests, fragile architecture, security holes, and nobody who can confidently fix production at 2am.

SPEED TODAY. RISK YOU OWN FOREVER.

Why use Devyou

The demo is
the easy part.

A prompt can generate a feature. A real product has to keep working through payments, traffic, bad data, bots, failed services, product changes, and human mistakes. We build the parts your customers never see, but your business depends on.

01

Payments and subscriptions

A card fails, a customer upgrades, gets charged twice, asks for a refund, or cancels halfway through the month.

02

Safe database changes

The product evolves without corrupting existing accounts, losing records, or breaking old customer data.

03

Backups and recovery

A bad release, human mistake, or AI agent deletes production data. There is a tested way to restore it.

04

Hosting and scaling

Traffic suddenly increases. The application stays available, remains fast, and does not create a surprise infrastructure bill.

05

Email delivery

Verification links, password resets, receipts, and onboarding emails arrive once, on time, and outside the spam folder.

06

Bots and abuse

Automated traffic cannot create thousands of accounts, scrape everything, spam users, or run up your API costs.

07

Monitoring and performance

Errors increase or the application slows as data grows. We know about it before the support inbox fills up.

08

Data quality

Imports contain duplicates, missing values, and inconsistent formatting. The system catches problems before customers see them.

09

Safe releases

A new version introduces a problem. Tests catch it early, or the release can be rolled back without taking the business offline.

INCLUDED IN DEVYOU

Guidance, setup, implementation, and ongoing engineering.

We recommend the services, configure them, connect them to your application, and help you make the right technical tradeoffs.

PAID DIRECTLY BY YOU

The services your application consumes.

Hosting, domains, payment processing, email delivery, storage, monitoring, AI usage, and other third-party software remain in your accounts. We do not mark them up.

How it works

Start focused.
Build, release, iterate.

No giant PRD and no one-time handoff. We establish enough shared context to choose one useful increment, release it to real people, learn from reality, and keep improving with you.

01

Bring the domain insight

You bring the customer problem, workflow, and point of view. We turn that expertise into a clear first outcome without asking you to write an exhaustive specification.

02

Build one useful increment

We shape, build, verify, and release the smallest complete improvement that delivers real value. It is production software, not a disposable demo.

03

Release, learn, and iterate

Real users and production behavior show us what matters next. We refine the workflows, strengthen the system, and add capability without starting over.

BUILDING SOFTWARE TAKES TIME

The MVP is the beginning, not the finish line.

Shopify started in 2004 as software for its founders' own snowboard store. Existing ecommerce tools could not support the experience they wanted, so they built their own.

It became the Shopify people know by solving one real problem first, learning from customers, and improving the product over time. Serious software compounds.

See the full operating philosophy in our continuous product development guide, and how one focused cycle works in our iterative development process guide.

With app builders and DIY vibe coding, you own every next step alone. Devyou stays with you for the journey.

Founder-led engineering

Built by people
who have done it.

Devyou is founder-owned and led by the product engineer behind Podseeker and SocialPhotos. Every engagement stays under the same accountable leadership from customer problem through release, production learning, and the next product decision.

Founder and technical lead

Accountability starts at the top.

More than a decade building deep-technology software in the San Francisco Bay Area, plus firsthand experience building and operating bootstrapped SaaS products.

Product engineers and specialists contribute under the founder's leadership. Clients get a focused team with direct access to the person accountable for what gets built, how it reaches customers, and what happens after release. If you need that judgment before or alongside implementation, explore our fractional CTO service for startups.

A note from the founder

I want more good ideas to become real software.

I am Oky Sabeni. I have spent more than a decade building deep-technology software in the San Francisco Bay Area. I built and operate Podseeker and SocialPhotos, and I still work directly on the product, customer problems, and code.

For most of software history, understanding the problem was not enough. You also needed years of engineering skill, significant capital, or a team before you could test an idea. AI has changed that equation.

Software skill no longer needs to be the gatekeeper for a good idea.

WHY HELP OTHERS?

Because the opportunity is bigger than the products I can build alone.

I will keep building my own software. But AI has made an experienced engineering team more capable, which means we can help more founders turn valuable expertise into useful products.

AI has narrowed the gap between an idea and working code. It has not removed the need to understand customers, choose the right product bet, release responsibly, learn from production, and keep improving. My team handles that continuing work.

No hype and no disposable demo. Useful software, built with you, learned from, and improved over time.

One focused engagement

Proven engineering.
Without building the team.

The fit

Before we
build together.

Who is this for?+

Founders and subject-matter experts who understand a customer, workflow, or industry problem deeply and want to turn that knowledge into a serious web application.

What kind of applications are a good fit?+

Focused SaaS products, data platforms, marketplaces, membership products, customer portals, directories, workflow tools, AI-assisted applications, and complex business websites.

Is this just vibe coding done for me?+

No. Agentic coding accelerates implementation, but the engineering team still defines the system, manages context, reviews the code, writes and runs tests, verifies behavior, and remains responsible for the production result.

What is too complex for this model?+

Products requiring a large team working in parallel, advanced infrastructure, deep scientific or machine learning research, strict enterprise compliance, native mobile specialization, or around-the-clock support need a broader team.

What counts as one active milestone?+

A meaningful product outcome with a clear boundary, such as customer onboarding, a billing system, a searchable directory, an API integration, or an admin workflow. Larger outcomes are divided into sequential releases.

What happens after I subscribe?+

You receive a private Trello board within one business day. The first card guides you through the product context, users, desired outcome, and supporting material. We agree on the first useful milestone asynchronously, then the build begins.

Will you work inside an existing application?+

Yes, when the codebase is in reasonable condition. The first step is a technical review so we can understand the architecture, risks, and best place to begin.

Who will I work with?+

Every engagement is led by the founder and software architect behind Podseeker and SocialPhotos. Product engineers and specialists join the work as needed. You get a focused team with direct technical leadership, not a junior production line.

How do we communicate?+

Your private Trello board is the shared source of truth. Add as many requests as you want, reorder the queue, attach documents or Loom recordings, and leave feedback directly on each card. We work on one active milestone at a time. Calls are available only when a decision is genuinely easier to make together.

Do I own the application?+

Yes. The source code, infrastructure, data, domains, analytics, and third-party accounts stay under your control.

What is the refund and cancellation policy?+

If we cannot agree on a useful first milestone within five business days and implementation has not begun, you receive a full refund. After work begins, the membership is month to month. Cancel before the next billing period and keep everything already shipped.

What do you know
should exist?

We are looking for people with a burning problem, meaningful domain knowledge, and the conviction to guide the product. Tell us what you understand and what software should make possible.

Tell us what you understand that most people do not, how the problem works today, and what you believe the software should make possible.
